On the 12th, the Korea Communications Standards Commission noted that cases of scams impersonating internet personal broadcasting and lottery winning number recommendation sites are frequent and urged caution when using these sites.
According to the scam review cases published by the commission, Person A is suspected of having defrauded over 22 million won by misusing a real-time internet broadcasting site demanding membership fees, paid broadcasting points, and refund fees. Person B created a lottery winning number recommendation site and deceived victims by claiming to have a winning number prediction system, luring victims with the condition of refunding for three years if they did not win. Person C approached victims through a dating app and induced them to sign up for a 'condition meeting' impersonation site, extracting expenses from them.
A commission official stated, "These scam methods all stimulate and tempt human psychology," emphasizing that users should check whether the site is credible and verify identity before using any services. Specific cases can be found on the commission's website under 'Public Interest Violation Information Review Cases.'
