The Korea Software Industry Association (KOSA) announced on the 11th that the Ultra-Large AI Promotion Council has published the "Recommendations for AI Infrastructure Advancement Strategy Report."
Since September of last year, the Ultra-Large AI Promotion Council has been continuously conducting research on AI infrastructure policies by hosting the "Roundtable for Securing AI Semiconductors" with domestic AI semiconductor experts.
This report emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to AI infrastructure as a platform composed of various components such as hardware, network, software, governance, and energy, noting that existing AI infrastructure strategies focus on individual technology development, highlighting that policy support is now needed considering the links and virtuous cycle structures between diverse elements.
Additionally, it proposed six policy directions focused on interconnections between AI infrastructure components: ▲support for AI system software development ▲expansion of AI computing center operations ▲support for multi-layered infrastructure elements ▲establishment of an AI utilization and dissemination platform ▲expansion of university AI infrastructure distribution ▲operation of an AI prototype platform.
Ha Jung-woo, head of Naver Cloud AI Innovation Center and chair of the infrastructure and industrial ecosystem committee of the Ultra-Large AI Promotion Council, noted, "As AI infrastructure is a platform that requires complex technologies, policy support focused on the interconnections and virtuous cycle structure among each component centered on the national AI computing center is essential," adding, "We will continue to present the industry's opinions for the advancement of AI infrastructure."
Association Chairman Jo Jun-hee stated, "From the perspective of strengthening the interconnections and virtuous cycle structure among the various components of AI infrastructure, we suggested a national-level investment and support direction," and emphasized, "We will continue research on AI infrastructure policies as a complex technology platform based on the industry's opinions."
