Kakao Mobility announced on the 11th that it has partnered with the Korea Tourism Organization to unveil a 'Dog Travel Map' based on Kakao Navi data in celebration of International Dog Day.
The 'Dog Travel Map' is an illustrated map that analyzes the vast movement data accumulated in Kakao Navi to provide information about travel destinations for pet owners, developed as part of the initiative to offer 'user-customized content.' Kakao Mobility selected ten 'recommended travel destinations for pets' based on the '100 pet tourist resources' chosen by the Korea Tourism Organization and the Kakao Navi navigation data collected over the past year.
The ten selected 'recommended travel destinations for pets' include ▲ 'Jeonnam Suncheon Ocheon Green Square,' known for its spacious lawns, ▲ 'Chungnam Taean Ggotji Beach,' where visitors can enjoy a flower path walk with their dogs, ▲ 'Daegu Suseongmot Resort,' where dog owners can board a duck boat with their pets, ▲ 'Gyeongbuk Gyeongju Bomun Tourist Complex,' ideal for taking cherry blossom photos with dogs, and ▲ 'Jeonbuk Iksan Prison Set,' where unique 'Unick shots' can be taken, among other major attractions nationwide.
The Dog Travel Map also includes useful travel information, such as the 'daily visitor rates' for each attraction based on the number of Kakao Navi navigation users, 'TOP 3 popular destinations nearby' that allow visits with pets, and 'hashtags' featuring each visit's characteristics. This information utilizes a comprehensive analysis of movement data from March 1 to May 31 last year, considering the current spring outing season.
The Dog Travel Map can be accessed through the Kakao T and Kakao Navi apps, as well as the domestic travel information platform 'Korea's Hidden Gems' operated by the Korea Tourism Organization. If users save their interests as popular destinations to visit with pets on the Dog Travel Map page linked through in-app banners and pop-ups, they can conveniently receive navigation services via Kakao Navi.
Additionally, users can check the transportation methods and travel time information for each destination through the integrated search functionality of Kakao T, and those without their own vehicles, such as pet owners, can directly reserve transportation options like Kakao T Pet and rental cars on the Kakao T app.
Park Sang-hyun, head of the marketing department at Kakao Mobility, noted, 'Considering the growing demand for traveling with pets, we planned to create this map in collaboration with the Korea Tourism Organization to make it easier for people to plan ahead.' He added, 'We will continue to analyze the vast data accumulated in Kakao Navi in various ways to provide various useful information that can be applied to actual travel journeys.'
