Qualcomm announced on the 11th that it will push forward with a collaboration to strengthen its on-device artificial intelligence (AI)-based business portfolio with SK Networks.
Through this collaboration, Qualcomm will provide SK Networks with Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, including the 'Qualcomm Dragonwing QCS6490', while SK Networks will review the potential of Qualcomm technology for its headquarters and subsidiaries and aims to secure AI performance and security using IoT solutions. Starting with this project, the two companies will establish new business models centered around on-device AI in various areas.
The Dragonwing QCS6490 is a high-performance system on a chip (SoC) solution for industrial and commercial IoT, characterized by its optimization for various IoT applications such as robots, drones, gateways, tablets, and kiosks. It supports various operating system environments, including Qualcomm Linux and Canonical Ubuntu, as well as Wi-Fi 6E.
Kwon Oh-hyung, president of Qualcomm's Asia-Pacific region and senior vice president at headquarters, said, 'Starting with our collaboration with SK Networks, we will expand our business portfolio that supports the advantages of on-device AI.' Choi Seong-hwan, president of SK Networks, noted, 'We will integrate AI into SK Networks' products and services to provide new experiences.'
