Hyundai AutoEver announced on the 11th that it will collaborate with Maersk Contract Logistics Korea Limited (hereinafter MCL Korea) for the innovation of logistics intelligence technology.
Hyundai AutoEver and MCL Korea signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 10th at MCL Korea's headquarters in Gangnam, Seoul, to establish a logistics intelligence system. The two companies will also jointly establish an innovation center within the first half of the year to develop and validate logistics technology.
Hyundai AutoEver provides optimized logistics intelligence technology based on its system integration (SI) know-how and capabilities in robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), and cloud-based smart factory technologies. MCL Korea provides a field where logistics data and intelligence technology can be practically validated.
Hyundai AutoEver is currently building logistics automation equipment and IT solutions at a clothing-specialized integrated logistics center (apparel-only omni-center) to allow MCL Korea to operate B2B (business-to-business) and B2C (business-to-consumer) transactions in an integrated manner. Located in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, this center covers an area of approximately 35,800 square meters, equivalent to about 15 soccer fields.
Hyundai AutoEver is pushing forward in its logistics business with the goal of Software-Defined Logistics (SDL). SDL is a service that integrates and controls all processes of a logistics center, including ▲incoming goods, ▲storage, ▲sorting, and ▲outgoing shipments, with one software. Through this collaboration with MCL Korea, the company plans to further advance SDL services in the logistics sector, aiming to enhance the flexibility and efficiency of the logistics center by enabling control of various automation equipment and heterogeneous robots from a single system.
Jang Yeon-se Hyundai AutoEver SDx (Software-Defined Everything) division head said, “We will provide our customers with an intelligent logistics center capable of real-time data processing and integrated control of various robots and equipment, based on 20 years of expertise in smart factory technology,” adding, “We plan to actively support the manufacturing intelligence of logistics customers through Hyundai AutoEver's SDL services.”
