LG Electronics will unveil the 2025 model LG OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) TV and LG QNED TV, which enhance artificial intelligence (AI) performance and picture quality.
On the 11th, LG Electronics held a '2025 LG OLED·QNED TV new product briefing' at LG Science Park in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, and noted that new products will be sequentially launched starting from the 18th in the domestic market and then globally. LG Electronics is accelerating its strategy to penetrate the global premium TV market through a 'dual track strategy' featuring OLED TVs and premium LCD TVs, QNED TVs.
This year, LG Electronics will operate the largest lineup in the industry with LG OLED TVs, including the ▲vivid picture quality OLED Evo (M5·G5·C5) and general OLED TV (B5). The QNED TV has added a 100-inch model in response to consumer demand for large and premium liquid crystal display (LCD) TVs, showcasing a full lineup ranging from 40 inches to 100 inches.
This year's LG TV has increased user convenience by equipping the remote control with an AI dedicated button. The Magic Remote features an AI button, allowing users to easily utilize voice recognition, personalized recommendations, and picture and sound optimization functions.
The AI concierge function analyzes viewing patterns to recommend content that users may prefer. AI search utilizes a large language model (LLM) to understand users' intentions and search for appropriate content. The AI chatbot function helps with TV settings or troubleshooting, while AI adaptive picture and sound modes provide optimal settings from 1.6 billion picture modes and 40 million sound modes.
The new products are equipped with new technology that enhances TV picture quality. The 2025 OLED Evo offers a screen that is up to three times brighter than previous models, applying a new brightness enhancement technology that changes the display algorithm and the organic compound stacked structure. The AI processor, Alpha 11, employs pixel-level upscaling to deliver more detailed and uniform picture quality. QNED TV utilizes 'dynamic QNED color solution' technology to improve color reproduction.
Gaming features have also been enhanced. OLED TVs are the industry's first to display 4K content at a variable refresh rate of up to 165Hz. NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility and AMD FreeSync Premium technology have been applied to ensure smooth handling of fast screen transitions.
LG Electronics will expand the wireless AV solution to QNED Evo following OLED Evo (M5). Additionally, LG Electronics' smart TV platform, 'webOS,' has added a new dedicated gaming hub called 'Gaming Portal.' LG Electronics will provide webOS upgrades for five years.
The domestic prices for the OLED TV are set at 6.4 million to 9 million won for the 77-inch model and 9.2 million to 13 million won for the 83-inch model, while the QNED TV is priced at 3.19 million to 4.69 million won for the 75-inch model, 4.59 million to 6.19 million won for the 86-inch model, and 8.9 million won for the 100-inch model.
Park Hyung-se, head of LG Electronics' MS business division (president), said, 'The 2025 model focuses on AI features that provide real practical benefits to users in everyday life,' and noted, 'We aim to elevate customers' TV viewing experience through intuitive AI features.'
