The Korea Electronics Industry Association (KEA) held its 49th regular general meeting on the 7th and announced on the 10th that Han Jong-hee, vice chairman and CEO of Samsung Electronics, has been reelected as chairman of KEA.
At this regular general meeting, chairman Han Jong-hee, who was re-nominated by the industry, will serve as the 21st chairman for the next three years (March 2025 to March 2028), and noted, “KEA plans to play a leading role in ensuring the continuous growth of the electronics and IT industries amid the rapidly changing trade environment and the unprecedented uncertainty facing our economy.”
Chairman Han conveyed the position that, “Amid the expansion of the United States’ America First policy leading to a reorganization of the global supply chain, we will take the lead in establishing proactive and practical countermeasures and reforming regulations to resolve the challenges faced by export and manufacturing corporations.”
He added that in the 'AX era,' where the utilization of AI technology has become essential in production and research and development, the application of AI technology in the electronics industry should be efficient and uninterrupted, and the plan is to develop 'Tech-GPT' to facilitate this, continuously creating a healthy cooperative ecosystem where large and small corporations grow together.
He also expressed the ambition to faithfully carry out the association's inherent 'bridging role' by responding quickly to changes in the global trade environment as a partner in industrial promotion, closely collaborating with the government and corporations to minimize corporate damage, and establishing various online and offline communication channels on a regular basis.
