Samsung Electronics and the National Samsung Electronics Labor Union (전삼노) announced on the 5th that they held a signing ceremony for the 2025 wage and collective agreement.
The signing ceremony took place at the Samsung Electronics Giheung Campus, attended by Choi Wan-woo, Head of Team (Vice President) of the Samsung Electronics Device Solutions Division, and Son Woo-mok, Chairperson of the National Samsung Electronics Labor Union.
On the 24th of last month, Samsung Electronics and the National Samsung Electronics Labor Union reached a tentative agreement on the 2025 wage and collective agreement. Subsequently, the union conducted a vote on the tentative agreement from the 28th until 1 p.m. on the 5th of this month, and the agreement was finally approved.
According to this agreement, Samsung Electronics will provide an average wage increase rate of 5.1%, 2 million points to be used for purchasing company products through the Family Net Mall, and 30 shares of company stock to all employees, and will operate a joint task force with labor to improve the performance-based pay system.
It was also decided to institutionalize the re-employment of employees with three or more children after retirement. Through this agreement, Samsung Electronics and the labor union have completed the wage agreements for 2023 and 2024.
Vice President Choi stated, "The signing of this wage and collective agreement marks a turning point for labor-management harmony, and we will work together to strengthen business competitiveness as a result," while Chairperson Son Woo-mok of the National Samsung Electronics Labor Union remarked, "We will continue to improve the treatment of our union members going forward."
