Samsung Electronics is contemplating the combination of smartphone cameras, image sensors, and mobile chipsets (AP) more than any other company. In this regard, we are confident in receiving consumer choice. While benchmarking competitors from various countries, including China, we will strive to provide differentiated features unique to Samsung.

Jung Seong-dae, vice president of mobile experience (MX) division, noted during a press briefing held on the afternoon of 3rd (local time) at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, the world's largest mobile exhibition in Barcelona, Spain. His comments were interpreted in light of the premium smartphone 'Xiaomi 15 Ultra' unveiled the day before the MWC 2025 opening. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra features a 200-megapixel telephoto camera that allows for up to 200mm optical zoom.

Vice President Jung said, "We conduct extensive research, such as reducing the number of lenses or changing designs whenever new camera lenses or sensors emerge," adding, "The Galaxy S25 series released this year succeeded in achieving high performance through an optimal combination that was the result of much consideration." He further noted, "We are also engaged in various discussions with leading corporations, including Adobe, regarding camera software."

Vice President Jung expressed the intention to differentiate artificial intelligence (AI) features from competitors. He explained, "Despite competitors using similar Qualcomm APs, the AP used by Samsung Electronics allows for custom features. We continue our research and development to provide optimal AI solutions."

The Galaxy S25 Ultra, unveiled by Samsung Electronics in January, is characterized by its ability to generate lossless images across 1x (optical), 2x (optical level), 3x (optical), 5x (optical), and 10x (optical level) using a 200-megapixel main (wide-angle) camera and 50-megapixel 5x zoom and 10-megapixel 3x zoom. The Samsung Log feature offers shooting with a 10-bit HEVC codec and color correction capabilities using a Look Up Table (LUT), allowing for high-quality video production through four times expanded color representation and precise color adjustment compared to previous models.

On-device AI can facilitate editing tasks smoothly and precisely through accurate prompt generation via precise segmentation and image understanding, while recognizing related information such as reflections and shadows, enabling AI to generate images naturally.
