SK Telecom announced on the 2nd that it will showcase a variety of innovative technologies, including next-generation AI data center solutions and AI-integrated base stations, at MWC25, which opens on the 3rd (local time) in Barcelona, Spain.

The exhibit hall, located at Fira Gran Via Hall 3, features a standalone exhibition by SK Telecom, alongside major global corporations such as Samsung Electronics, Microsoft, Intel, Qualcomm, Nokia, and Deutsche Telekom. It is a key area filled with cutting-edge technologies and services unveiled at MWC each year.

SK Telecom has placed 18 moving LED displays at the front of the exhibition hall, showcasing media art that encapsulates SK Telecom's AI vision on a screen of up to 505 inches, capturing the attention of visitors. The interior features various AI data center solutions, AI base stations, next-generation communication technologies, and a space introducing capable startups like Moloco, RevLab, and Twelve Labs, partners of the K-AI Alliance.

SK Telecom expects that this MWC will be an opportunity to solidify its global technological leadership in the communications field, while also expanding collaboration with global AI corporations related to future innovative technologies.

The Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA) presented the theme for this MWC, outlining strategies for securing future profitability in the telecommunications industry and the potential and challenges of utilizing AI. In the opening keynote, it is expected to discuss redefining the telecommunications industry and the changing roles of telecommunications service providers.

As the global ICT industry deeply discusses realistic revenue models and sustainable growth for telecommunications and AI businesses, SK Telecom plans to present a wide range of AI innovative solutions that can be linked to the core business of telecommunications companies, as well as new growth areas.

SK Telecom will demonstrate advanced technologies in the communications field, such as AI base stations (AI-RAN), AI routing, and AI-based positioning technology, while also introducing cases of using Telco LLM in telecommunications customer service centers and distribution networks. AI solutions to prevent cybercrime attempts, including hacking, as well as artificial intelligence technologies in the media and healthcare sectors will also be showcased.

Under the 'AI Infra Super Highway' strategy announced last year, SK Telecom is working to discover various AI data center technologies and build a business model of self-strengthening and cooperation through collaboration with SK Group members and global partners.

At this exhibition, SK Telecom will encompass key components of its AI data center solution business including technologies and services related to energy, operations, AI memory, and security. Technologies for controlling the power required by AI data centers, liquid cooling technologies, and GPU resource management solutions are included.

This exhibition will also emphasize efforts to implement 'Korean-style sovereign AI' centered on K-AI semiconductor capabilities held by group members and partners, including SK hynix HBM (high-bandwidth memory), SKC's glass substrates, and Rebellion NPU (neural processing unit).

SK Telecom will conduct a joint exhibition with member companies of the Global Telco AI Alliance at this MWC and host a roundtable event for representatives from various countries visiting MWC.

Founding members of the Global Telco AI Alliance, SK Telecom, Deutsche Telekom, E& Group, Singtel, and Softbank are collaborating to create synergies in the AI field based on economies of scale, starting with the development of Telco LLM.

During MWC25, joint exhibitions with Deutsche Telekom and E& Group will reveal AI technology collaboration items promoted by the Global Telco Alliance.

Ryu Young-sang, CEO of SK Telecom, noted, 'Through this MWC25, we plan to secure leadership in key growth areas such as AI data centers, AI agents, and differentiated services, as well as network infrastructure that embodies artificial intelligence, and expand our global alliances.'
