Adobe announced on the 27th that it has launched the mobile application of the image editing tool 'Photoshop' equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) features. The app is available for use on iPhones through the App Store, and Android users will be able to access it starting later this year.
The Photoshop app offers Mobile-friendly designs of Photoshop's representative image editing and design features, including layering, masking, and RAY-driven generative fill. The mobile app and the existing web version are compatible, allowing users to work on the same project across multiple devices.
Users can also use the Firefly-based generative AI features within the app. Notable features of generative AI include 'generative fill,' which replaces selected areas with other objects, and 'generative expansion,' which automatically fills in empty spaces when the canvas is extended.
Along with the release of the mobile version, Adobe has also updated the existing web version. This includes improvements to the user interface for seamless transitions between web and mobile, as well as direct integration with Adobe Stock's extensive library of free assets. By subscribing to the Photoshop plan for mobile and web, users can access advanced editing features on both platforms.
Ashley Steele, senior vice president of Adobe's Digital Media Division, said, 'We have brought the infinite creative possibilities of Photoshop to mobile, enabling everyone—from professional artists and designers to the next generation of creators using Photoshop for the first time—to utilize Photoshop's iconic image editing and design capabilities.'
