Kakao Games noted on the 26th that it is expanding touchpoints with users by utilizing collaboration PC cafes.
The collaboration PC cafe was designed to enhance the vitality of the PC cafe industry and provide a new experience for users of its games. It is distinguished by being themed with Kakao Friends characters and Kakao Games' PC online games such as "Path of Exile 2" and "PUBG: Battlegrounds."
Kakao Games began operating four collaboration PC cafes in Seoul in June 2023 and has now expanded to Busan, collaborating with a total of seven PC cafes. Through this, it is strengthening communication with users of "Path of Exile 2," "Path of Exile," and "PUBG: Battlegrounds."
In particular, "PUBG: Battlegrounds" is hosting offline tournaments and various events at collaboration PC cafes. Last year, it held the "Clan Exchange Tournament" in April and the "PUBG Clan Cup 2024" in August, and during the G-Star 2024 international game exhibition, it hosted the "Play PUBG in 서면" event at the 서면 collaboration PC cafe, offering free gameplay and in-game currency giveaways.
"Path of Exile 2" is also conducting various events linked to PC cafes. It started early access service last December, supporting free play at collaboration PC cafes and hosting events providing food and game merchandise. In February, it held a PC cafe LAN party with partner streamers, and until March 7, it is running a point shop event where users earn double points when playing at franchise PC cafes.
A representative from Kakao Games stated, "We will continue to expand collaboration with collaboration PC cafes to provide users with a differentiated gaming experience."
