TikTok announced on the 26th that it won the 'Best Partner Award' at the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA) general meeting held on the 25th.
The 'Best Partner Award' is presented to partners who contribute to the development of domestic music culture through the creation of various business models utilizing music content, and who help expand the rights of music copyright holders. Chung Jae-hoon, the overall operation head of TikTok Korea, accepted the award on behalf of the company during the ceremony.
TikTok is changing the consumption behavior of music from mere appreciation to active participation, based on its powerful influence through the 'For You' feed. It is playing a significant role in continuing new trends through creative music content that users reinterpret through challenges, dance covers, and lip-syncs.
Additionally, TikTok is fulfilling its role as a platform for music rediscovery and fan communication by launching various features, including the Fan Spotlight, to enable fans and artists to interact more actively, and by continuing campaigns that can be enjoyed by both artists and fans.
Chung Jae-hoon, the overall operation head of TikTok Korea, said, "TikTok is continuously striving to be a platform where both music creators and fans can be satisfied," and noted, "In the future, TikTok will play a central role in the global expansion of K-pop and Korean music."
