On the 25th, AI avatar startup Goodgeng Labs announced that it has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the hygiene product brand MamiSon INC to innovate in the AI avatar voice agent market and retail. Starting with MamiSon, Goodgeng Labs plans to expand its AI retail business using its AI avatar voice agent solution in collaboration with various brands.
Goodgeng Labs is an AI avatar startup established in 2022 by AI experts from Meta and Line, and it has attracted investments from Naver D2SF and Kakao Investment. The company is proposing new interaction methods between brands and consumers by applying its solution, which offers a 'conversational retail experience' based on AI avatar voice agent technology to kiosks.
Unlike existing kiosks, Goodgeng Labs' solution allows for simple orders through voice-based conversations, making it highly user-friendly. Additionally, it seamlessly handles customer inquiries and consultations, enabling flexible customer responses. To achieve this, Goodgeng Labs has developed core AI technologies, including Small Language Model (SLM), Speech-to-Text (STT), Text-to-Speech (TTS), and avatar motion generation technology, which have been integrated into their devices. The order response time is within 1.5 seconds, with an accuracy rate of over 99.8%, supporting Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese.
Moreover, Goodgeng Labs' solution is optimized for browsers, providing the same AI avatar-based voice ordering and consultation experience in online commerce environments, including kiosks. Goodgeng Labs is aggressively targeting the AI retail market by opening the world's first 'GGLS flagship store,' where the AI avatar voice agent is commercialized in an offline retail store, located in Sinsadong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
Through this agreement, Goodgeng Labs has named MamiSon as its first brand partner and will hold a 'MamiSon rubber glove 500-piece sell-out pop-up event' at the GGLS flagship store for four days starting on the 28th under the slogan 'Flip your daily life, meet the future.' Customers can directly converse with the AI staff 'Nalnani' and purchase MamiSon rubber gloves at the event price of 1,999 won. This is the first case where an AI avatar communicates with customers like an actual store employee, providing an interactive shopping experience.
An Doo-gyeong, CEO of Goodgeng Labs, noted, 'We plan to continuously expand new retail experiences utilizing AI technology and will broaden collaborations with various brands starting with MamiSon,' adding, 'We will strive to innovatively change the touchpoints between brands and consumers with AI avatar technology.'
