The Korea Software Industry Association (KOSA) announced that it held its 37th regular general meeting at the Samjeong Hotel in Seoul on the 25th.
At the meeting, Chairman Cho Jun-hee was confirmed to be re-elected as the 20th president. Chairman Cho will lead the association for three years, following his terms as the 18th and 19th president. Seven new corporations in various fields, including artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, cloud, and information technology (IT) services, were newly appointed as executive members.
New vice-chairpersons appointed include ▲ITCEN (Chairman Kang Jin-mo), ▲CLOIT Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Se-hee). New directors appointed include ▲Miridi (CEO Kang Chang-seok), ▲HeadIT (CEO Ra Jeong-jin), ▲Rebellion (CEO Park Sung-hyun), ▲CNF System (CEO Park Jeong-su), and ▲Madras Check (CEO Lee Hak-jun).
The association plans to continue bringing in innovative corporations from various fields as executive members to realize the vision of becoming a representative institution of the new convergence industry based on AI and software by 2030 and to enhance industrial competitiveness in the era of AX (artificial intelligence transformation).
Additionally, KOSA reviewed its business performance and settlement of accounts for 2024, along with the business plan and budget for 2025 during the general meeting. Last year, KOSA raised the unit price of software development function points by 9.5% and launched the training center brand 'KSTAR (KSTA)' while focusing on policies for the software industry and talent development. It also established an AI industry headquarters and prepared the foundation for AI support and global expansion by setting up a Middle East branch and signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Saudi Aramco.
This year, with the goal of being a 'leading institution for digital innovation through software and AI,' the association will strengthen the role of private governance for AI centered on the Super Large AI Promotion Council and support members' digital and Software as a Service (SaaS) transitions. It will particularly focus on creating tangible business results for members through support for startups' growth and overseas expansion.
Chairman Cho Jun-hee noted in his inaugural speech, 'To transform South Korea into a technological powerhouse in the era of AX, innovation and challenge in the software industry is more urgent than ever.' He added, 'Our association will be at the forefront of this challenge, becoming the focal point of the industry to lead innovation and drive growth.' He further emphasized, 'I will dedicate all my passion and capabilities for the success of our member corporations and the advancement of the industry.'
