Nexon will terminate the service of 'MapleStory 2', which was launched in 2015 as a sequel to 'MapleStory', after about 10 years.
Nexon noted through the 'MapleStory 2' website, "We concluded that it is no longer possible to provide a service that meets customer expectations in the current situation," adding, "We will end the service on May 29, 2025."
Accordingly, Nexon will terminate the payment services within 'MapleStory 2' starting today.
'MapleStory 2', which began official service in July 2015, is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that transitioned the original 'MapleStory' game into a 3D environment.
'MapleStory' remains a hit title that drives Nexon's revenue alongside 'Dungeon & Fighter' and 'FC' series. However, its sequel, 'MapleStory 2', faced criticism for its lack of graphic quality and content at launch and failed to achieve commercial success.
