KOLON Benit announced on the 20th that it will begin to pioneer the domestic 'artificial intelligence (AI)-based data security' market through partnerships with leading corporations in the global data security field. KOLON Benit plans to target domestic market demand for the global data protection and security solutions of Cohesity, which recently merged with Veritas.

Recently, AI-based data protection corporation Cohesity has completed the acquisition of Veritas' data protection division and is accelerating its expansion in the Korean market. Cohesity plans to establish sales strategies and response systems to optimize data protection solutions powered by strong AI security technology for domestic customers in collaboration with KOLON Benit. KOLON Benit has maintained a strong partnership since signing the domestic exclusive distribution contract with Veritas in 2020.

Veritas-Cohesity plans to enhance its data protection and cybersecurity resilience capabilities to increase market share. By combining Veritas' core data protection solutions such as 'NetBackup', 'NetBackup Appliance', and 'Alta' with Cohesity's AI-based data protection and analytics technologies, they aim to boost business synergy. Existing segments of Veritas, including 'InfoScale', 'Enterprise Vault', and 'Backup Exec', have been launched as separate corporations under Arctera.

As a result, KOLON Benit has significantly expanded its portfolio of AI-based data security solutions. It has secured solutions equipped with capabilities for precise data analysis and automated security response, going beyond existing backup security systems with DataProtect (backup and recovery), DataHawk (intrusion detection), and Gaia (AI search assistant) from Veritas-Cohesity.

KOLON Benit plans to propose AI data security solutions to customers in the manufacturing, finance, distribution and e-commerce, public sector, cloud, and IT services sectors in the future. While continuing technical support and upgrades for existing Veritas products, it will offer new data protection solutions customized by incorporating Cohesity's AI-based security features. Additionally, it plans to strengthen various sales and marketing activities to establish brand awareness in the domestic market for the newly spun-off Arctera.

Son Dong-il, a director at KOLON Benit, noted, "AI-based data protection solutions are essential for industries where data security, regulatory compliance, and operational continuity are crucial, and their importance is becoming more pronounced in an increasingly sophisticated cyber threat environment," adding, "We will support domestic corporations by integrating the innovative data protection technologies of Veritas-Cohesity with our exclusive distribution partner business know-how to provide stronger data protection capabilities."
