ATON announced on the 19th that it has supplied the mobile one-time password (OTP) 'ATON-mOTP' to Shinhan Bank Canada.
Through this, ATON expanded its global solution supply to a total of six countries, including Canada, following Japan, India, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Cambodia. As a result of the solution supply contract between ATON and Shinhan Bank, ATON-mOTP will be integrated into the mobile banking app 'Shinhan Sol Canada' of Shinhan Bank Canada.
ATON-mOTP is an OTP solution that enhances security through robust security technologies. It can be used globally irrespective of roaming or USIM changes, making it suitable for global financial services. Unlike traditional hardware token-based OTPs, it allows users to generate OTPs directly from a smartphone app, enabling convenient use abroad without the need for separate authentication devices.
Launched in 2017, ATON-mOTP has been adopted by major banks including Shinhan Bank in Korea, as well as large securities firms such as Korea Investment & Securities, KB Securities, Samsung Securities, and NH Investment & Securities. Last year, the number of global issuances grew by 35% compared to the previous year.
ATON plans to accelerate securing financial clients in the North American market starting with the supply of its solution to Shinhan Bank Canada.
Ugilsoo, CEO of ATON, noted, 'Shinhan Bank Canada serves as a strategic North American hub for Shinhan Bank, playing a bridge role for local Korean customers as well as for expanding global financial services.' He added, 'Based on our strong partnership with Shinhan Bank, we will supply verified security solutions to the North American financial sector and expedite our expansion into global markets.'
