Kakao signed a business agreement with Kangwon National University, Kyungpook National University, Pusan National University, Chonnam National University, and Chungnam National University to operate the third cohort of the regional IT talent training program 'Kakao Tech Campus.'

This third cohort will recruit a total of 120 participants, and applications are open regardless of their major. Starting this year, the program has been expanded to allow students from branch campuses as well as those from the main campuses to participate. The recruitment period is from March 4th to 18th, and the training will take place from April to November over the course of 8 months. The program will consist of front-end and back-end tracks, and will be conducted in three stages: basic technology learning, clone projects, and actual web service development.

Beginning with this cohort, Kakao developers will participate as mentors, providing code reviews and technical mentoring, allowing students to directly experience the collaboration methods and practical know-how of Kakao developers.

'Kakao Tech Campus' is Kakao's regional developer training ESG program that started in 2023, enabling participants to balance their studies with online education. Additionally, it operates as an official academic credit course through industry-academia collaboration, realizing Kakao's mission for regional balanced development.

Lee Young-hoon, head of the group human resources team at Kakao, noted, 'We are pleased to be recruiting the third cohort in collaboration with major universities in the country' and said, 'We will continue to support future developers so they can be competitive in the rapidly changing technological environment.'
