Apple is expected to equip its mixed reality (MR) headset 'Vision Pro' with artificial intelligence (AI) features.
According to Bloomberg News on the 15th (local time), Apple plans to add the AI feature 'Apple Intelligence,' an updated mode for guest users, and a spatial content app as part of the VisionOS 2.4 software upgrade, which is expected to be distributed as early as April.
Bloomberg reported that this will be the first time Apple expands its AI tools on iPhones, iPads, and Macs. The Vision Pro is equipped with the Mac M2 chip and 16GB of memory, enabling AI processing within the device.
As competition in the MR headset market becomes increasingly fierce, Apple's goal is to enhance its competitiveness with this device upgrade. However, an Apple spokesperson declined to comment.
Earlier, Meta launched the Quest headset, while Google announced a MR operating system integrating AI features called Android XR, planning to release headsets and other devices together with Samsung Electronics later this year.
