Naver has been included in the "100 key corporations in the robotics sector" selected by global investment bank Morgan Stanley. Among domestic corporations, Samsung, Hyundai Motor, and LG have also been selected in the same institutional sector, and Naver is the only domestic software corporation to be listed.
According to Morgan Stanley's "Humanoid 100" report released on the 16th, Naver has been classified as a major "humanoid integrator" alongside Tesla, Apple, Amazon, Samsung, Hyundai Motor, LG, and Sony. Morgan Stanley projected that humanoid robots would establish themselves as a key technology investment trend over the next decade and that the potential market size could reach $60 trillion.
The report divided the humanoid industry into three institutional sectors: the "brain," which develops artificial intelligence (AI) chip software and semiconductors; the "body," which manufactures hardware; and the "integrator," which combines the two elements to develop full robots. Naver was evaluated as one of the key integrator corporations. Naver was also noted as an outstanding corporation applying robot technology to real work environments alongside Honda, Tesla, and Toyota.
Naver emphasized the importance of noting that, unlike software-centric U.S. big tech corporations such as Alphabet, Microsoft, and Meta, which are mainly included in the "brain" sector, Naver was selected as an "integrator." This distinction arises from Naver not only having developed various forms of robots but also possessing a range of essential technologies needed for humanoid robot development, including large language models (LLMs), cloud computing, digital twins, and robot operating systems.
Among Chinese corporations, electric vehicle manufacturer BYD, Alibaba, and Tencent were included in the integrator sector. With many advanced manufacturing corporations in the automotive, electronics, and robotics industries included among the integrators, the e-commerce and internet sectors selected corporations such as Naver, Amazon in the U.S., and Tencent and Alibaba in China. Samsung was also recognized as a humanoid brain corporation in the memory and fabless sectors, while SK hynix was selected as a brain corporation in the memory field. Samsung SDI and LG Energy Solution were recognized as humanoid body corporations in the battery sector.
