Nexon announced on the 14th that it will open a large-scale theme zone called 'Maple Island,' utilizing the 'MapleStory' intellectual property (IP), in Lotte World Adventure in Jamsil, Songpa-gu, Seoul, in the first half of 2026.

'Maple Island' will transform approximately 600 pyeong of the outdoor area known as 'Magic Island' in Lotte World Adventure using the 'MapleStory' IP. Under the catchphrase 'MapleStory becomes reality,' three attractions will be created, including one roller coaster and two family attractions, along with various offerings such as 'MapleStory' sculptures, merchandise, food, and experience zones that can be enjoyed by a wide range of ages.

Through this initiative, Nexon plans to allow players to enjoy 'MapleStory' not only in virtual spaces but in reality as well. As 'MapleStory' celebrates its 22nd anniversary this year, it aims to provide long-time gamers with a familiar yet refreshing experience by expanding the IP into a theme park, while naturally guiding first-time visitors into the world of 'MapleStory' through 'Maple Island.'

Kang Won-ki, Deputy Minister of Nexon Maple Headquarters, noted, 'As theme parks are places where one can step away from everyday life and create special memories, I expect that 'MapleStory,' which has provided joyful experiences in virtual spaces for a long time, will create good synergy with Lotte World. In the future, we will strive to provide unique participation experiences of 'MapleStory' to many visitors and ensure they can create even more special memories at 'Maple Island.'
