Wemade announced on the 12th that it recorded sales of 712 billion won and an operating profit of 8.1 billion won last year. Compared to the previous year, sales increased by 18%, and operating profit turned to profit. The annual sales set a record for the fourth consecutive year since 2021.
In the fourth quarter, the sales increased by 42% year-on-year to 165 billion won, with an operating profit of 18.1 billion won and a net profit of 109.6 billion won, marking a turnaround to profit.
Wemade's sales increased last year thanks to the global success of 'Knight Crow' and the licensing agreements for 'Mir's Legend 2 and 3' in China. The operating profit turned to profit due to reduced operating costs from management efficiency efforts, and the net profit also turned to profit due to increased non-operating income from the inclusion of Mad Engine, according to Wemade.
This year, Wemade plans to focus its efforts on various genre game developments, including ▲ the successful service of 'Legend of Emir' ▲ strengthening the WEMIX ecosystem centered around WEMIX Play and WEMIX Republic ▲ new multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) 'Mir 5', first-person shooter (FPS) 'Dismains War', and extraction shooter 'Midnight Walkers'.
Wemade started overseas services for the sports golf game 'Golf Super Crew' on the 11th, and it is preparing for the domestic service of MMORPG 'Legend of Emir' on the 20th. Additionally, 'Fantastic Baseball: Ilmi Pro', aimed at the Japanese baseball market, is targeted for release in the first quarter.
Furthermore, WEMIX Republic enhanced community functions and increased user convenience by launching mobile applications (apps) and revamping the WEMIX Play website. They announced plans to actively secure competitiveness by presenting innovative projects to invigorate the WEMIX blockchain business this year.
In the case of Wemade Max, the annual sales last year were reported at 75.1 billion won, an 8% increase from the previous year, with an operating loss of 8.7 billion won and a net loss of 14 billion won. The fourth-quarter performance recorded 20.2 billion won, an operating loss of 3.9 billion won, and a net loss of 7.8 billion won.
Wemade Max announced plans to diversify its game portfolio by developing more than 10 new mobile games this year, including MMORPGs, collectible and idle RPGs, and social network games (SNG).
