Waplat, a senior care subsidiary of NHN, announced on the 6th that it has signed a business agreement with Visiting Angels Korea to enhance premium long-term care services.
Since establishing its Korean branches in 2007, Visiting Angels has been involved in home care, day and night care, and assistive device businesses, and it is currently a private senior care corporation operating 127 locations.
As South Korea enters a super-aged society, the private senior care market is expected to grow rapidly, and both parties signed this agreement to promote digitalization and innovation in elderly care.
Through this agreement, Waplat plans to provide the mobile app-based B2C medication and disease management service "Waplat Check" to Visiting Angels to enhance the quality of care services.
"Waplat Check" offers features including ▲ medication management that provides reminders for medication times ▲ health checks that measure cardiovascular health and stress levels using artificial intelligence (AI) and digital healthcare technologies ▲ tracking management to monitor chronic disease metrics such as blood pressure and cholesterol. Additionally, a "family connection" feature will be added to allow real-time monitoring of parents' medication status and health conditions.
Waplat plans to introduce "Waplat Check" to Visiting Angels care locations in the first half of this year and will expand cooperation projects with private senior care companies thereafter.
A Waplat official noted, "As the private senior care market rapidly grows with the entry into a super-aged society, we have launched a specialized platform, 'Waplat Check.' We aim to change the paradigm of human care services in the private sector following the public sector and establish it as a leading platform for achieving well-aging."
