Major domestic information and communications technology (IT) corporations, including Samsung Electronics, LG, and Naver, are planning to attend the 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) Behavioral Summit' next week in Paris, France.
According to the industry on the 6th, Naver Chief Executive Officer Choi Soo-yeon plans to attend the AI Summit in Paris as a corporate representative over two days starting on the 10th. Jeon Kyung-hoon, Chief Technology Officer of the Device Experience (DX) sector of Samsung Electronics and head of Samsung Research, will also participate. Jeon is expected to observe the event and monitor industry trends.
LG Research Institute Director Baek Kyung-hoon and head of the strategy sector have also been invited. Participants plan to engage in side events hosted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and UNESCO, among others, in addition to the AI Summit.
As a government representative, Minister of Science and ICT Yoo Sang-im will attend, along with Chairperson Ko Hak-soo of the Personal Information Commission. The AI Summit, now in its third year, is an event aimed at promoting the future of artificial intelligence technology and its safe use on a global scale.
Following the first meeting held in London, the second meeting was hosted in Seoul last year. This year's event is expected to welcome U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, OpenAI Chief Executive Officer Sam Altman, Anthropic Chief Executive Officer Dario Amodei, and Mistral AI co-founder Arthur Mensh. Reuters reported that senior executives from Google's parent company Alphabet and Microsoft are also expected to participate.
