Oracle announced on the 5th that domestic AI corporations Upstage have established an environment to accelerate AI model development and deployment through the introduction of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), thereby enhancing their global competitiveness.
Upstage needed robust infrastructure to handle the complex learning of its own large language model (LLM) "Solar" and AI OCR solution "Document AI." The company introduced OCI to secure high-performance computing resources and provide scalable AI solutions to enhance research and development.
Through OCI's optimized networking for GPU workloads and bare metal services, the company reduced AI model training and deployment times and increased operational efficiency. As a result, Upstage can bring AI solutions to market more quickly and secure competitiveness.
Additionally, Upstage is focusing on improving AI performance and expanding services utilizing OCI, and they anticipate global expansion through integration with Oracle Database 23ai. In the future, the company plans to expand cooperation with Oracle to provide safe and compliant AI services.
Kim Seong-hoon, CEO of Upstage, noted that "the introduction of OCI is a crucial milestone in enhancing Upstage's global competitiveness," adding, "We will refine our models based on OCI's high-performance computing and scalability and lead innovations in the global AI market."
Kim Seong-ha, president of Oracle Korea, said that "Upstage's adoption of OCI signifies that Oracle provides a cloud foundation optimized for AI workloads," and highlighted that "We will continue to collaborate to ensure Upstage can secure competitiveness in the global market."
