Suprema announced on the 5th that its artificial intelligence (AI) based video surveillance solution 'BioStar 2 VMS' has obtained a first-level Good Software (GS) certification.
BioStar 2 VMS is a solution that combines Suprema's access control technology with intelligent video surveillance (VMS) and AI-based facial recognition and behavior analysis features. It provides real-time access management and video monitoring on a single screen, enabling intuitive verification and rapid response in case of unusual situations.
The AI-based facial recognition and video analysis features can be installed in a plugin format and support various analytical functions such as intrusion, loitering, and fall detection, as well as people counting. Additionally, it can be utilized for blacklist detection and missing person searches, indicating a high potential for application in various environments requiring security, according to the company.
Choi Jong-kyu, Deputy Minister of Suprema's domestic business division, noted, 'With the GS certification acquisition, we have demonstrated the reliability of AI-based video surveillance technology,' and added, 'We will continue to develop the technology for use in various fields such as public sectors and smart cities.'
