Samsung Display is pushing to expand the supply of vehicle organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) to global corporations in collaboration with Qualcomm.
Samsung Display announced on 4th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to supply OLEDs for Qualcomm's 'Snapdragon Cockpit' experience demo kit 'CEDP.' The Snapdragon Cockpit is a total solution for the driver's seat and is one of the core businesses of Qualcomm's vehicle-focused brand 'Snapdragon Digital Chassis,' launched in 2021.
Samsung Display decided to supply a 34-inch 6K (6008×934) wide OLED for the demo kit. This will support the visual implementation of various vehicle software, including personalized artificial intelligence (AI) graphics, customized infotainment, and autonomous driving information for the Snapdragon Cockpit.
Based on this memorandum of understanding, Samsung Display aims to cooperate with Qualcomm to emphasize the strengths of Samsung OLED tailored for vehicles to global vehicle brands and automotive companies. Previously, Samsung Display and Qualcomm exhibited the cockpit experience demo kit applying Samsung Display OLED at the 'CES 2025' exhibition booth earlier this month.
Lee Ho-jung, vice president in charge of small and medium-sized product planning at Samsung Display, noted, 'Samsung Display effectively implemented Qualcomm's excellent automotive chipsets and software with its differentiated vehicle display solutions.'
