Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics will showcase their new commercial display products at the largest display exhibition in Europe, 'ISE,' held in Barcelona, Spain, from 4th to 7th (local time).
Samsung Electronics has set up a 1,728-square-meter (about 522 pyeong) exhibition hall at the venue 'Fira Barcelona' to present four types of energy-efficient displays called 'Samsung Color e-Paper,' an enhanced Business-to-Business (B2B) integrated consolidation platform known as SmartThings Pro, new electronic whiteboards, and large-scale signage suitable for upscale stores and building lobbies.
Samsung Electronics will introduce four types of 'Samsung Color e-Paper' designed to reduce power consumption for digital content advertising. The 'Samsung Color e-Paper' is available in three versions with 13-inch resolution, 25-inch resolution, and 32-inch QHD resolution, along with one version for outdoor use with 75-inch 5K resolution.
'Samsung Color e-Paper' features ink technology applied to digital paper, characterized by a power consumption of 0.00 watts (W) when maintaining content. Even when changing the screen, it consumes significantly less power compared to existing digital signage, thereby reducing energy expenses. Samsung Electronics has used recycled plastic for more than half of the product covers of 'Samsung Color e-Paper' and applied 100% paper for all packaging.
Using Samsung Electronics' signage content management platform, 'Samsung VXT,' users can create and manage content specifically for e-Paper. Samsung VXT is equipped with dedicated features for 'Samsung Color e-Paper' that enhance the visibility of the content being displayed based on whether it includes images or text. A preview function is also provided, allowing users to see the actual color rendition of the content displayed on the e-Paper in advance.
Following the introduction of a 105-inch 5K smart signage optimized for video conferencing at last year's ISE, Samsung Electronics revealed a large 115-inch 4K smart signage this year. The 115-inch QHFX model has seamless visuals with the capability for multi-view up to four splits.
LG Electronics will present a customized ID solution that can generate synergy at the sites of major B2B customers such as stores, offices, schools, transportation vehicles, and hotels at this exhibition.
A large-scale 'Kinetic Light Emitting Diode (LED)' equipped with AI technology has been installed at the entrance of the LG Electronics exhibition hall. It is comprised of 88 LED signage panels, measuring 7.18 meters wide and 4.09 meters high. This cube module incorporates both LED and mirrors, allowing each module to rotate 360 degrees horizontally.
This is an interactive advertising solution where visitors can scan a QR code with their smartphones to upload their photos, and generative AI transforms them into pop art displayed on the LED. The solution is a collaboration with the kinetic solution partner, EasyWid.
In addition, LG Electronics will demonstrate various technologies in cooperation with domestic and international partners, including Triplet, which analyzes retail store traffic and behavior data, Cocomo 24·7, specializing in school access management and emergency response solutions, as well as companies like Mosys, Megapixel, Brompton, Logitech, Cisco, Crestron, and BrightSign, which provide business video conferencing solutions and signage content management.
LG Electronics will also unveil high-brightness signage that applies 'anti-discoloration' technology, minimizing yellowing that occurs when exposed to sunlight for extended periods. This is the first public showing since obtaining validation for display discoloration resistance characteristics from the global testing and verification organization, UL Solutions, making it an industry first.
