On the 4th, the three telecommunications companies (SK Telecom, KT, LG Uplus) announced the launch of preactivation for Samsung Electronics' latest smartphone, the Galaxy S25 series.
SK Telecom offers the opportunity to participate in a Walt Disney World tour, a 50,000 won Starbucks gift card, and double benefits for Disney+, T Universe, T Day, T Roaming, A Dot, and ChatGPT when reserving the S25 series. SK Telecom also noted that further discounts are available when using partner cards.
Customers who sign up for the Samsung Card T Light card by the 28th and pay for their smartphone in installments can receive benefits of up to 840,000 won. Those who sign up for the Hyundai Card M3 telecom discount type 2.0 and have their telecom fees automatically debited can receive benefits of up to 720,000 won, allowing a total savings of 1.56 million won when both cards are used together.
SK Telecom also operates a dedicated insurance product for the Galaxy S25 series that compensates for damage up to five times for a monthly fee of 5,200 won, as well as a program that supports the upgrade to a new model when the S25 series is returned after two years.
KT allows customers purchasing the Galaxy S25 series to join the 'Safe Change New Galaxy AI Club' if they select the Galaxy Change choice. This club offers a service that provides up to 50% compensation when returning the existing device for a new mobile phone purchase after two years. Customers interested in second devices can buy Galaxy Buds3 and Galaxy Buds3 Pro at discounted prices when subscribing to the Samsung Choice plan.
KT offers a total benefit of up to 1.22 million won through double discounts with affiliated cards. Using the KT Super DC Lotte Card and KT Installment Plus KB Kookmin Card, customers can receive about 1.03 million won in fee discounts over 24 months based on a monthly card spending of 2.2 million won, as well as a cashback benefit of up to 190,000 won.
Additionally, the service '365 Phone Care Damage' is available for 5,900 won per month, which covers damages, phishing, and hacking for second devices like Galaxy Buds and Watches, as well as support for mobile phone replacements and damage repairs.
LG Uplus pre-installed the AI currency agent service 'ixi-O' on the Galaxy S25 series. Launched in November last year, ixi-O is based on on-device AI and features real-time voice phishing detection, AI search, AI phone answering, visual calling, and quick AI summary and suggestion functions.
LG Uplus announced that customers using the 5G Signature or 5G Premier Super plans can apply for a fee discount service until the 31st of next month, allowing them to enjoy discounted monthly subscription products for tablets or smart devices. Promotions with affiliated cards are also underway, where customers purchasing the S25 series with affiliated cards from four card companies including Lotte, Samsung, Shinhan, and KB, and automatically transferring their telecom fees, can receive refunds of up to 100,000 won.
