Access to the Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot Deepseek has surged, causing server disruptions for two consecutive days.

According to a server status update published on the Deepseek website on the 31st, the performance degradation of Deepseek's API (application programming interface) service began on the 27th and has been operating in an unstable state continuously for the past 24 hours from the previous day.

The web-based chatbot service also returned a response to many users on the morning of that day, saying, "The server is busy, please try again later," or displayed a notification saying, "You are sending messages too frequently, please wait a moment."

Deepseek noted that on the 27th, it had implemented "improvement measures and is monitoring the results," but the server issues persist.

The Chinese AI startup Deepseek has recently garnered global attention with its newly launched AI model Deepseek-V3. Notably, it is creating high-performance AI at a lower expense and infrastructure compared to OpenAI and is offering it for free, stirring excitement in the IT industry.
