Market research firm Canalys analyzed on the 23rd that Samsung Electronics has maintained a strong growth trend while launching new Galaxy S models over the past three years.
Canalys explained this after Samsung Electronics unveiled the new flagship smartphone Galaxy S25 series in San Jose, California, on the 22nd (local time), through analysis of the shipment volume of the Galaxy S series from 2022 to 2024.
According to Canalys, Samsung Electronics shipped 32 million units of the Galaxy S24 series launched in January last year during the first to third quarters of last year, marking a 24.5% increase compared to the same period the previous year. The increase rate of the Galaxy S series shipment during the same period in 2022 to 2023 was 37.7%.
A Canalys official noted, 'Samsung Electronics was the first in the world to launch artificial intelligence (AI) features built into smartphones, and this year the AI-supported smartphone market will become even more crowded with competitors such as Apple and Google, as well as market challengers like Honor and Xiaomi.'
However, this official stated, 'It is still early for Samsung Electronics to create revenue opportunities through flagship products like the Galaxy S25, and expanding the user base of Galaxy AI remains a top priority.'
