Last year, SK hynix, which is projected to record its highest ever performance, decided to pay its employees a performance bonus of 1,500% of the base salary, the highest level ever.

According to the industry on the 22nd, SK hynix announced on the company bulletin board that it would pay a total performance bonus of 1,500%, including a surplus profit share (PS) of 1,000% and a special performance bonus of 500%. PS is an incentive that pays up to 50% of an annual salary (1,000% of the base salary), depending on annual performance.

Since 2021, SK hynix has been paying PS, linked to individual performance, using 10% of the previous year's operating profit as a funding source.

SK hynix plans to pay the 1,500% performance bonus decided this time to its members on the 24th. On the 23rd, it will also pay a productivity incentive (PI) of 150% for the second half of last year. PI is an incentive given when the company achieves the targeted production volume each half.

Initially, the company set the final performance bonus higher than the 1,450% proposed to the union. However, the union stated it could not accept the company's proposal, demanding treatment commensurate with the record performance, and declared the launch of a joint struggle headquarters.

Meanwhile, SK hynix announced it would also implement a shareholder participation program, which includes the option to select a portion (up to 50%) of the PS in the company’s stock and, if held for one year, an additional 15% of the purchase amount paid in cash.
