SK C&C announced on the 22nd that it will begin developing an AI agent that provides industry and customer-tailored AI intelligence services based on its artificial intelligence (AI) financial investment platform, "Market Caster," in collaboration with SK Telecom.
SK C&C is advancing its AI B2B (business-to-business) operations by consolidating AI capabilities dispersed within the SK Group through the officially launched "AIX Division" alongside SK Telecom last December. SK C&C and SK Telecom are focusing their efforts on securing AI Transformation (AT) cases reflective of the characteristics of group company businesses positioned in key industries such as energy, semiconductors, and batteries, utilizing AI models that have already been market-validated like Market Caster.
AI intelligence analyzes ▲market environment ▲consumer trends ▲competitor information ▲competitive indicators, reflecting the characteristics of each industry and customer needs using AI technologies. By providing the indicators and explanatory power necessary for demand or price trend forecasting, portfolio optimization, and risk management, it helps corporations make strategic decisions. Especially in the rapidly changing global supply chain system and complex business environment, AI intelligence plays a crucial role in establishing efficient and accurate response systems.
Both companies support industry-specialized AI agents that can reduce the time, expense, and management burden for corporations building and operating AI intelligence services. This agent is designed based on the already validated technology of SK C&C's "Market Caster" in the financial AI intelligence market. The financial investment sector requires a high level of AI analytical capability to predict industry and market changes, so the accumulated experience provides a strong foundation for developing industry-specialized AI agents.
"Market Caster" has achieved high performance in the market through ▲AI advisor and ▲AI trading services specializing in financial product recommendations, ordering, and management. For instance, in its proprietary asset investment (PI) fund management, Market Caster has operated stably even during downturns in the volatile global stock market, achieving an annual return of over 20%. Based on these success cases, last year, it launched products with major domestic asset management companies and private equity funds, and it is also being applied to the Meritz Securities AI stock order optimization system.
The two companies plan to support customers' strategic decision-making with AI agents utilizing Market Caster even beyond the financial market, into advanced manufacturing industries. The Market Caster AI model, capable of analyzing global market data in real-time 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, can contribute to optimizing complex supply chain management and production strategies in manufacturing. In a proof of concept (PoC) project utilizing the semiconductor industry index, they confirmed the possibility of success by optimizing the production increase and decrease rates for DRAM used in desktops and laptops.
Chai Ji-won, head of SK C&C's AT service division 1, noted that "as uncertainty in the global economy increases, the process of enhancing decision-making using AI and big data is becoming an essential element across various industries" and stated, "Market Caster will provide tailored AI agents for major industries in the group based on its AI big data analysis capabilities and support a more evolved, customer-tailored AI intelligence service."
