It has become possible to use the artificial intelligence (AI) service 'A-dot' as the default currency application on the iPhone.
According to a notice from SK Telecom A-dot on the 21st, users can set the A-dot app as the default currency app by updating the iPhone operating system (iOS) 18.2 and the latest A-dot update. This setting has been possible on the Android operating system, but it was not supported on the iPhone, which meant that when clicking phone numbers within web browsing, maps, or messenger apps, it would connect to the iPhone's default currency. Therefore, iPhone users had to enter the A-dot app separately to use the call recording and summary features, which was cumbersome.
For example, when inquiring about a restaurant found in the map app, pressing the 'Call' button would connect to the default currency, which would not be recorded, so if recording was necessary, the user had to copy the number, enter A-dot, paste it on the dial screen, and then make the call. In the future, it will be possible to directly call the A-dot phone simply by pressing the store's phone number in the web browser or app, without these steps.
An official from SK Telecom noted, "With this update, users will be able to utilize the AI features of A-dot more conveniently," and said, "We will continue to work to improve the usability of the A-dot app."
