Samsung Electronics is collaborating with Nexon Korea and its subsidiary Neople to enhance the 3D gaming experience. The three companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to implement a 3D version of Nexon's new game 'First Berserker: Kazan' using the 'Odyssey 3D' gaming monitor, which provides an immersive 3D experience without the need for specialized 3D glasses.
'First Berserker: Kazan' is a hardcore action RPG featuring Kazan, a character from the 'Dungeon & Fighter' universe, maximizing immersion by applying finely tuned 3D depth to the game characters and backgrounds. In boss battle scenes, the increased depth makes the characters feel vibrant, and in cinematic footage, the cross-talk phenomenon that causes dizziness is minimized through focus distance adjustments.
Kim Yong-jae, vice president of Samsung Electronics, noted, 'The Odyssey 3D and optimized 'First Berserker: Kazan' will provide the best 3D gaming experience' and expressed plans to expand collaboration with domestic and international game companies. Choi Sung-wook, Deputy Minister of Nexon, also conveyed expectations, stating, 'This agreement will provide a unique gaming experience.'
'First Berserker: Kazan' is set to launch simultaneously in domestic and international markets on March 28, and the 'Odyssey 3D' gaming monitor is scheduled for a global sequential release starting in Korea. This monitor attracted attention after winning the 'Best Innovation Award' at last year's CES.
