Microsoft (MS) raised the price of its personal and home software "Microsoft 365" for the first time in 12 years. MS announced on the 16th (local time) via a blog that it would increase fees by $3 per month, along with various feature upgrades, including the introduction of the Copilot AI tool.
The individual rate will rise from $6.99 per month and $69.99 annually to $9.99 per month and $99.99 annually, respectively. The family plan, available for up to six people, will increase from $9.99 per month and $99.99 annually to $12.99 per month and $129.99 annually. The new pricing will apply when existing users renew their service.
Microsoft 365 is a service that Microsoft has focused on expanding to compete with Google's consumer office tools. Previously known as "Office 365", this service has enhanced AI-based features and is improving user experience.
Currently, Microsoft 365's primary revenue comes from corporations, but MS continues to pursue a strategy to expand its influence in the general consumer market.
