Nintendo unveiled its next-generation console, the "Nintendo Switch 2."
On the 17th, Nintendo released a teaser video for the "Nintendo Switch 2," lasting over 2 minutes, on its official website and YouTube channel, and noted that the device will be launched within the year.
The design of the revealed "Nintendo Switch 2" resembles the models and rendering images leaked at the IT and electronics exhibition CES 2025 held in Las Vegas, USA, last week. The dedicated controller "Joy-Con" and the portable screen size have increased compared to the Nintendo Switch, but the button layout remains almost the same.
Users can continue to enjoy gameplay on a TV screen by docking the device after using it portably.
Nintendo explained that games released for the previous model, the "Nintendo Switch," can be enjoyed on the "Nintendo Switch 2" in both package and download versions.
Details regarding the device's specifications and release schedule are expected to be revealed during Nintendo's new product announcement event, "Nintendo Direct," on April 2.
Nintendo will host the "Nintendo Switch 2 Experience" event sequentially in major cities around the world, starting from New York in the U.S. and Paris in France on April 4.
In Korea, the event will take place over two days starting May 31 at KINTEX in Goyang, and participants will be selected through a lottery after pre-registration.
