LG Electronics recently announced on the 15th that it has strengthened webOS game content through a partnership with Xbox to offer hundreds of games on its standalone smart TV platform 'webOS.'
Through this collaboration, LG Electronics plans to add the 'Xbox Game Pass' service to webOS, providing support for Microsoft's Xbox cloud gaming service on LG smart TVs. The Xbox Game Pass will soon be available on the latest LG smart TVs in most countries that support Xbox cloud gaming, including Korea.
'Xbox Game Pass Ultimate' subscribers will be able to enjoy a variety of popular games on the large screen of LG smart TVs, including the highly anticipated RPG title 'Avowed,' as well as 'Hogwarts Legacy,' which has received acclaim for its delicate implementation of the Harry Potter universe.
LG Electronics currently offers over 4,000 games worldwide through webOS, ranging from popular cloud-based games to casual games. In addition to increasing the number of playable games, the company is continuously striving to provide gamers with a comfortable gaming environment.
LG Electronics will introduce a dedicated gaming hub called 'Gaming Portal' within webOS in the first quarter of this year, allowing easy access to game apps like Xbox. The Gaming Portal will also present ▲recently played games ▲top 10 most popular games ▲editor's recommended games, helping customers choose their gaming content.
All models of the 2025 LG OLED TV, including wireless OLED TVs, will apply the latest graphics technologies such as NVIDIA's 'G-SYNC compatible' and AMD's 'FreeSync Premium,' ensuring smooth display of fast-paced games without lag.
LG Electronics plans to offer a game controller connection feature based on ultra-low-latency Bluetooth (BT ULL), implemented in collaboration with MediaTek, Razer, and Telink, making it the world's first. With ultra-low-latency Bluetooth support allowing for a response speed of up to 1ms, the company aims to provide optimal gaming conditions for gamers engaging in competitive games where response speed is crucial.
