Kakao Entertainment unveiled four new webtoons that garnered attention in January, including Kakao Webtoon and Kakao Page, on the 15th.
The new Kakao Webtoon titled "Black Haze," set to be released on the 28th, is the latest work by the writer Yong Yong, who previously achieved 280 million views with "Charlotte has five disciples." "Black Haze" is a remake of the webtoon of the same name that the writer introduced 13 years ago, expanding both the world-building and character design compared to the previous version.
"Kimya Vlog" is a new work by the writer Didi, known for gaining fame in horror thriller genre. Didi has received love since starting the so-called apocalypse-themed "Human Series," featuring titles like "Observant Human," "Survivor Human," and "Extinction Human," beginning in 2014.
"Strange but effective villain life" reached the number one spot in weekly rankings for webtoon romance fantasy shortly after its launch. Based on the original work by the writer Yuna Jin, who authored the web novel "The doctor does everything and submits his resignation," the work was adapted and illustrated as the webtoon "Why are you doing this, Duke!" by the artist Eddie.
"The different class of the monster slayer's return" also climbed to the number one position in weekly rankings for webtoon fantasy soon after its launch. This is a webtoon adaptation from the same-titled novel by the writer Hectopascal. The original also ranked fourth in the fantasy weekly rankings in the first week of January.
