Samsung Electronics said on the 15th that it aims to penetrate the hotel TV market with the world's first 'art TV' called 'The Frame'.
The Frame features an 'art mode' that displays artworks such as paintings and photographs even when powered off, as well as a frame-style bezel and slim-fit wall-mount design.
Hotel managers can use the art mode, which automatically adjusts the brightness and color tones of the content according to the lighting environment, to customize the atmosphere of the space as desired.
Samsung Electronics plans to expand The Frame, which was selected as the first official display at Art Basel, the world's largest art fair last year, into its hotel TV lineup to provide differentiated experiences for guests.
In addition, all models of the 2025 hotel TV will support wireless content-sharing technologies 'Google Cast' and 'Apple AirPlay'.
Through this, hotel guests will be able to continuously enjoy content from their smartphones or tablets on the TV screen by scanning the QR code on the room TV screen. No separate dongle or login procedure is required, and the linked device information will be automatically deleted at checkout.
Along with this, the operating system for hotel TVs has been integrated to Tizen 9.0 in 2025, enhancing operational efficiency. Customized solutions for device integration management, such as 'Link Cloud,' a dedicated integrated solution for hotel TVs, and 'SmartThings Pro,' an integrated connection platform for corporations, are provided.
Jeong Hoon, vice president of Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business, noted, 'The 2025 hotel TV will contribute to providing a differentiated guest experience with an even more advanced customized experience.'
