Samsung Electronics announced on the 13th that its 2025 Neo QLED TV and lifestyle TV models have obtained the 'Eye Care Biochemical Rhythm Certification' from the German testing and certification organization VDE.
The certification criteria consist of a total of six items, including five eye care items and the CS index, which assesses the impact on the biochemical rhythm. The five eye care items are safety for the eyes, melatonin suppression levels, screen flicker harmlessness, picture quality uniformity, and color accuracy. Samsung Electronics received high evaluations across all six items to obtain the Eye Care Biochemical Rhythm Certification.
The 'Eye Comfort Mode' that has obtained the Eye Care Biochemical Rhythm Certification automatically adjusts brightness and color temperature according to viewing time and environment, providing an optimized viewing environment for the user's biochemical rhythm changes.
During the day, it implements brightness similar to natural light, maintaining comfort for the eyes while providing vivid images indoors. At night, it reduces brightness and color temperature to alleviate eye fatigue and create a comfortable sleep environment.
Samsung Electronics has also obtained 'Glare Prevention Verification' from the global safety certification organization UL Solutions, which comprehensively assesses reflections, discomfort, and disabling glare from screens, thereby minimizing eye strain in various viewing environments.
Son Tae-yong, vice president of Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business, noted, 'The acquisition of reputable global certifications for Samsung Electronics TVs is a result of technological innovation that prioritizes users' eye health and safety beyond simple picture quality improvement.' He added, 'In the future, Samsung Electronics will continue to lead the TV market by realizing user-centered values based on trusted technological prowess.'
