Metanet DL announced on the 13th that it will lead the next-generation portal and academic information system construction project for Korea University.
The project aims to enhance university competitiveness by streamlining administration and implementing a user-centered digital environment, as well as improving efficient resource management and work productivity. Given its scale of approximately 12 billion won, technical proficiency and expertise were prioritized in the selection of the contractor.
Metanet DL has the most experience in large top-tier university projects, based on its expertise in university IT consulting and system integration. Following the successful establishment of administrative systems at more than 50 universities, including Seoul National University, Yonsei University, and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), it has once again proven its competitiveness by securing a contract for the construction of a university administrative system at a major university.
Metanet DL was selected as the primary contractor by forming a consortium with Tomato System. As the main contractor for the project, it will lead key areas including overall project planning, execution, management, and the reconstruction of the academic system.
In particular, this project will utilize the university administrative solution 'MetaE4U' as a prototype, which has been validated at numerous universities over the past 20 years. A solution that reflects the standard processes and know-how of leading domestic universities, along with a proven architecture, will be optimized to meet the characteristics and requirements of Korea University. This is expected to allow for efficient and stable project execution.
Metanet DL aims to complete the project by 2026, actively incorporating feedback from various stakeholders to produce optimal results. As domestic universities accelerate their digital transformation and actively promote the adoption and upgrading of university administrative systems, this next-generation system construction project at Korea University is expected to become an important milestone in the university administrative system market and positively influence digital innovation in other universities.
A Korea University official noted, 'Through this system construction, all members, including students and faculty, will be able to use academic and administrative services in a more convenient and efficient digital environment.'
Ahn Ji-hyun, senior executive of Metanet DL’s E4U unit, said, 'I am pleased to contribute to strengthening the digital competitiveness of the prestigious Korea University. Based on the capabilities and experience of a leading enterprise in university informatization, we will do our best to establish a platform for digital innovation at the university.'
