LG Electronics is accelerating its strategy to penetrate the U.S. market based on the competitiveness of artificial intelligence (AI) appliances unveiled at the world's largest consumer electronics and IT exhibition, CES 2025.

On the 9th (local time), appliances from LG Electronics were prominently displayed in the aisle of the Las Vegas location of Lowe's, which is considered a prime spot on Fort Apache Road. Lowe's is a home remodeling goods retailer with over 1,700 stores across the United States and is one of the largest appliance distribution channels in the country, along with Home Depot.

The store featured washing machines equipped with key components such as the 'AI DD motor' and refrigerators enhanced for performance and efficiency with the 'inverter linear compressor.' Kim Sung-taek, head of the home appliance sales division at LG Electronics' U.S. subsidiary, noted, "Lowe's stores typically place best-selling products in the center, and if sales are poor, the brand's placement is quickly changed. LG Electronics has long occupied the center of this store."

LG Electronics has ranked first for six consecutive years in the 'appliance brand reliability evaluation' conducted by the consumer media Consumer Reports since 2019. Consumer Reports regularly releases findings on the reliability of major appliance brands sold in the United States based on their ability to function without failure over a long period.

Last year, reliability assessments were conducted on approximately 420,000 appliances from 26 brands purchased by consumers from 2013 to 2023, evaluating products based on failure rates over five years. The assessment included eight categories: washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, dishwashers, electric and gas ranges, cooktops, wall ovens, and microwave ovens with hoods.

LG Electronics explained that it received the highest scores for the reliability of four categories: washing machines, dryers, electric and gas ranges, and microwave ovens with hoods. Consumer Reports stated, "Purchasing reliable brand products is the best way to slowly replace appliances, leading to long-term expense savings and reduced waste of appliances."

An official from LG Electronics stated, "Among AI appliances, the WashTower, which improves energy efficiency through AI technology, is very popular," adding, "We plan to accelerate market penetration by enhancing AI technology not only in appliances but also in the business-to-business (B2B) market, such as heating and cooling systems."
