Taiwan's TSMC, the world's largest foundry (semiconductor contract manufacturing) company, has continued to experience revenue growth driven by the rising demand for artificial intelligence (AI).

TSMC reported on the 10th that its revenue for December of last year was 278.16 billion New Taiwan dollars (approximately 12.3 trillion won), marking a 57.8% increase compared to the same period the previous year (176.3 billion New Taiwan dollars). TSMC also noted a 0.8% increase from the previous month (276.06 billion New Taiwan dollars).

For the annual results, TSMC's revenue for last year was 289.43 billion New Taiwan dollars (approximately 128.5 trillion won), representing a 33.9% increase compared to 2023 (216.17 billion New Taiwan dollars).

Reuters reported that in the fourth quarter of last year, TSMC's revenue, driven by AI demand, reached 868.42 billion New Taiwan dollars (approximately 38.5 trillion won), exceeding the average forecast of 23 analysts (853.57 billion New Taiwan dollars).
