The National Intelligence Service (NIA) and the Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 10th that they have published the '2024 Big Data Platform-Based Analysis Service Support Project Casebook,' which supports data analysis for the growth of small and venture corporations.
This casebook has selected support examples from 17 out of the 48 corporations participating in the 2024 project and categorized them into four areas: 'corporate analysis,' 'spatial analysis,' 'consumer analysis,' and 'medical analysis.'
Notable examples include discovering health functional food materials through ancient document data analysis, analyzing carbon emissions using aerial imagery, and analyzing areas at risk of bee fatalities based on grade information on nectar quantity for beekeeping farms. Additionally, among the data used in the cases, some data (38 types) such as vessel data and medicinal and disease data by traditional materials are registered in the NIA Data Safe Zone (Pangyo), allowing anyone to analyze and utilize data in a safe and reliable environment.
The big data platform-based analysis service support project is a project based on big data platform data established and operated through cooperation between the public and private sectors to alleviate the overall data shortage in the industry and promote data utilization. It has been providing data analysis and utilization consulting to corporations that are struggling with data usage, thus resolving the current issues of corporations and creating business innovations to strengthen their competitiveness.
NIA President Hwang Jong-seong noted, "I hope this casebook presents possibilities for corporations to utilize data and provides clues for problem-solving, thereby creating new business opportunities," adding, "In the future, I will strengthen support so that corporations can achieve sustainable growth through data."
'The 2024 Big Data Platform-Based Analysis Service Support Project Casebook' can be found on the National Intelligence Service website, and information on utilizing the NIA Data Safe Zone can be accessed through the K-ICT Big Data Center website.
