On the first Sunday of 2024, Tinder users' swipe activity increased by about 20% compared to the average for the year. The number of "Likes" was 15% higher. The number of conversations increased by 12%, message sending rose by 20%, and the matching rate was 10% higher.
In particular, users responded an average of 2 hours and 16 minutes faster in 2024 compared to 2023, maintaining active communication. Tinder activity was also high during the peak season from January 1st to Valentine's Day on February 14th.
During this period, the number of messages sent per day increased by 2.1 million compared to the annual average. The number of profile "Likes" was 298.4 million higher. Additionally, about 486 self-introductions were edited per minute, showing users actively managing their profiles.
Tinder projected that confident and proactive dating trends would continue into 2025 through its end-of-year report "Year in Swipe." It revealed that 50% of global users plan to seek dating and relationship advice from friends.
Thirty-eight percent of Korean respondents cited "photos revealing the partner's personality" and "interesting self-introductions" as attractive elements. Tinder offers features like the AI-based Photo Selector and the Matchmaker, allowing users to explore profiles with friends' help, supporting their dating journey.
