Wemade's subsidiary Wemade Next announced on the 7th that it will collaborate with NVIDIA to develop the AI boss 'Asterion' appearing in 'Mir 5.'
'Mir 5' is a PC open-world MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) based on Wemade's flagship IP 'Legend of Mir 2,' and it is currently being developed by Wemade Next. Since June of last year, Wemade Next has been conducting an R&D (research and development) project in collaboration with NVIDIA to showcase innovative and differentiated combat experiences.
The two companies jointly developed 'Asterion' by fine-tuning an AI model that applies machine learning and small language models (SLM). In this process, NVIDIA's AI virtual character development technology 'NVIDIA ACE,' AI inference microservices 'NIM,' and the graphics card 'GeForce RTX 5090' based on the Blackwell architecture were utilized.
'Asterion' learns user behavior patterns through machine learning and presents more sophisticated and evolved attacks as battles are repeated. Users can experience high immersion and enjoyment through combat that requires new strategies each time.
The trailer for 'Asterion' was first revealed on the 6th (local time in the U.S.) on the official NVIDIA GeForce website, one day before the opening of 'CES 2025.' It will also be released on Wemade's official YouTube channel and NVIDIA GeForce social media channels starting on the 8th.
Park Jung-soo, CEO of Wemade Next, said, "The AI boss of 'Mir 5,' which always demands new tactics, will become an important milestone in gaming history," adding, "I look forward to seeing how this technology will change gaming."
Keita Ida, NVIDIA's vice president, noted, "The AI boss of 'Mir 5' is an example of how advanced AI can innovatively transform gameplay."
