This year, Jang Hyun-guk, co-CEO of Action Square and former CEO of Wemade, announced the Ethereum-based game coin "CROSS."
Jang noted on the 7th through his account on X (formerly Twitter) that "we are launching the game token protocol 'CROSS' that allows all games to issue tokens and all users to conduct transactions with them," adding that "as the first step, we have issued the Ethereum-based coin 'CROSS.'"
According to Jang, the total supply of CROSS is 1 billion coins, with no additional minting plans or issuance features.
During a recent media interview, Jang stated that a new blockchain foundation will be established in Zug, Switzerland, by the end of this month, and that the tokens will be supplied via an initial coin offering (ICO) or initial exchange offering (IEO) in February, with the first game linked to this planned for release in March.
Jang emphasized through X that "the convergence of blockchain and gaming is an inevitable future," stating, "ultimately, all games will issue their own tokens, whether they are replaceable or non-fungible."
