Xiaomi announced on the 6th that it would establish its South Korean branch, Xiaomi Korea, and begin localization efforts.
Xiaomi Korea will unveil a range of new smart device products on the 15th. It will showcase products in five categories, including smartphones, wearables, TVs, robotic vacuum cleaners, and power banks, offering a diverse price range from budget to premium to expand choices for domestic consumers.
Among the smartphone lineup, a new model from the premium brand 'Xiaomi,' the '14T,' and one new product from the 'Redmi Note 14' series, which emphasizes practicality and reasonable pricing, will be revealed.
'Xiaomi 14T' is the first Leica co-developed smartphone presented in the Xiaomi lineup in South Korea. The camera, equipped with Leica's Summilux optical lens, offers four levels of focal lengths ranging from 15mm to 100mm, allowing for high-quality photos of various subjects from landscapes to portraits.
It also includes the latest AI features. Google's AI assistant Gemini controls the device through natural conversation, and Circle to Search intuitively searches for information on the screen. The 6.67-inch AMOLED display achieves a bright screen with a maximum brightness of 4000 nits and a refresh rate of 144Hz.
The new product in the Redmi lineup, which represents the mid-range smartphone market, is characterized by its robust durability. With Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and IP68-rated water and dust resistance, it is strong against everyday impacts and scratches. The flagship-level 200-megapixel main camera shoots clear photos even in dark environments and can zoom up to 30 times.
Following its global launch on the 10th of this month, Xiaomi Korea will introduce one model from the Redmi Note 14 series for the first time in South Korea on the 15th.
A representative from Xiaomi Korea noted, "We will communicate more closely with consumers through the establishment of a South Korean corporation" and emphasized, "We will deliver differentiated value through locally tailored products and services."
